After a two-year hiatus, the Football Canada Cup, the country’s national under-18 male tackle football championship, will be returning to the field this summer.
Football Canada unveiled the schedule for the event on Thursday, which will be held at the Apple Bowl in Kelowna, BC from July 9–17. Eight provincial teams will compete for the title of National Champions with the 2019 defending champions, Team Saskatchewan, currently ranked number one entering the tournament.
Play begins at 10:00 a.m. PST on Monday, July 11, with number four Ontario taking on number five Manitoba. The remaining Game Day 1 match-ups will see number two Quebec play number seven New Brunswick at 1:00 p.m., Nova Scotia challenging number one seed Saskatchewan at 4:00 p.m., and number three Alberta taking on number six British Columbia at 7:00 p.m.
Game Day 2 of the event is Thursday, July 14, with play beginning at 10:00 a.m. Opponents will be determined based on the Game Day 1 outcomes.
The final day of the tournament is Sunday, July 17, with the bronze medal game scheduled for 4:00pm and the gold medal game for 7:00pm. As the host team, British Columbia will gain automatic entry in to the medal round.
