The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed American offensive tackle Eric Lofton, per sources.

The 29-year-old spent two seasons (2017-18) with the Ottawa Redblacks during which he dressed for four games. He signed with the B.C. Lions in 2019 but was released before joining the Edmonton Elks in July. He dressed for two games and remained under contract with the club for the 2020 season, though it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 29-year-old native of Lumberton, N.J. appeared in 37 games at Temple University (2011-15) and was named All-AAC as a senior in 2015.

The Blue Bombers have what is widely considered the best offensive line in the CFL with veteran American offensive tackles Stanley Bryant and Jermarcus Hardrick set to return for 2022. The club also has Jalen Burks and Drew Richmond under contract, both of whom should compete for a depth role along the offensive line.
