The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed American receiver T.J. Simmons and American defensive back Tyrique Mcghee, both of whom have NFL experience.

Simmons made 86 receptions for 1,197 yards and nine touchdowns over three years with the West Virginia Mountaineers.

The six-foot-two, 200-pound target spent the first year of his collegiate career with the Alabama Crimson Tide before transferring to West Virginia. In 2020, Simmons finished No. 33 nationally and No. 2 in the Big 12 in yards per reception (17.4).

Simmons signed as a free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after going unselected in the 2021 NFL Draft, but was released during training camp.

Mcghee spent the 2020 season on the practice roster with the Los Angeles Rams, though he was released in April 2021.

The five-foot-ten, 185-pound defender played in 50 games with the Georgia Bulldogs at a number of positions in the secondary, and made 53 total tackles, nine pass deflections, two forced fumbles, and two interceptions.
