The B.C. Lions have signed American free agent quarterback Isaac Harker.

The 26-year-old was a member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders over the past two seasons (2019, 2021), during which he completed 70-of-97 pass attempts for 706 yards and five interceptions. He also rushed five times for 19 yards.

The Lebanon, Ind. native attended Indiana State from 2014-17 before transferring to Colorado School of Mines for his senior season. Harker completed 65.5 percent of his passes with the Orediggers for 3,858 yards, 39 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, while adding 61 carries for 142 yards and three majors.

Harker holds a Master’s degree in mineral and energy economics and achieved a remarkably high score in the Wonderlic, a common test used to gauge the intellect of prospects.

Canadian quarterback Nathan Rourke is expected to be B.C.’s starter in 2022, while Orleans, Ont. native and UBC product Michael O’Connor signed with the club on Tuesday.
