Rolle island: Tiger-Cats re-sign CFL all-star defensive back Jumal Rolle

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have re-signed American defensive back Jumal Rolle to a one-year contract for the 2022 season.

The 31-year-old Rolle started all 14 regular season games for the Ticats in 2021, registering 40 defensive tackles, two special teams tackles, two interceptions, including an 88-yard interception return touchdown and a team-leading 11 pass knockdowns en route to his first CFL All-Star nomination.

The six-foot, 190-pound native of Wilson, NC also suited up in all three of the Tiger-Cats’ playoff games, including the 108th Grey Cup in Hamilton and made eight tackles.

Rolle has played in 49 career CFL games with 41 starts over three seasons in Hamilton (2018-2021), collecting 115 defensive tackles, eight special teams tackles, nine interceptions, one touchdown and 22 pass knockdowns.

Prior to joining the Tiger-Cats, the Catawba College product appeared in 19 National Football League games with the Houston Texans (2014-15) and Baltimore Ravens (2015), posting 22 defensive tackles, three interceptions and four passes defended.
