The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have re-signed Canadian offensive lineman Kay Okafor for the 2022 season.
The 29-year-old Okafor played eight games for the Ticats in 2021 before suffering a season-ending injury. The six-foot-three, 295-pound native of Enugu, Nigeria has suited up in 35 games over his three-year CFL career, all with the black and gold from 2018-2021.
The St. Francis Xavier University product was originally selected by the Ticats in the third round, 21st overall during the 2017 CFL Draft as a defensive lineman before transitioning to the offensive side of the ball.
Okafor was slated to become a free agent on Tuesday, Feb. 8. Other pending free agent offensive linemen in Hamilton include former first-round picks Darius Ciraco and Jesse Gibbon.
