The Toronto Argonauts have made Dariusz Bladek the second highest-paid offensive lineman in the CFL after signing him to a two-year contract extension.

Bladek received a $40,000 signing bonus to re-sign with the Double Blue last week and will make a $110,000 base salary in 2022. The deal also includes $12,000 in housing, $5,000 in training, $3,000 in travel, and $10,000 in active roster bonuses.

The 27-year-old will make $200,000 in 2023, including $130,000 in base salary, a $40,000 off-season roster bonus, $12,000 in housing, $5,000 in training, $3,000 in travel, and $10,000 in active roster bonuses.

Bladek earned approximately $120,000 in 2021 after signing with Toronto as a free agent in February 2020. He made 11 starts at right guard including the East Final, missing three games due to injury and one due to rest.

He was a second-round pick of the Saskatchewan Roughriders out of Bethune-Cookman in the 2017 CFL Draft. He played 45 games with the club over three seasons before departing for the Argos via free agency.

The only offensive lineman under contract for 2022 who is slated to make more than Bladek is Edmonton Elks’ centre David Beard.
