The Ottawa Redblacks have signed Canadian receiver Will Corby, his U Sports team tweeted on Monday.
The University of Toronto product caught 23 passes for 425 yards and two touchdowns in 2021, helping the team reach a 3-3 regular season record. He was 3DownNation‘s fifth-ranked receiver in the 2021 CFL Draft class, though he went unselected on draft day.
The six-foot-three, 198-pound target has made 124 career receptions for 2,303 yards and 14 touchdowns at the U Sports level and was named a second-team All-Canadian in 2019. He is the younger brother of former Queen’s receiver and Edmonton draft pick Doug Corby.
The Redblacks had the league’s worst passing attack in 2021, averaging just 194.6 yards per game. Nate Behar was the team’s leading Canadian receiver with 38 receptions for 439 yards, followed by Anthony Coombs at 28 receptions and 247 yards, and Daniel Petermann at 16 receptions for 148 yards and two touchdowns.
