The CFL unveiled the 2022 schedule that sees a return to a full slate of games. The reigning Grey Cup champions will kick-off their season with the home opener on Friday, June 10 against the Ottawa Redblacks at 7:30 p.m.

After opening at home to Ottawa, the Blue Bombers will then travel to the nation’s capital a week later for their second game on the schedule. The ’22 schedule will return to a full 18-game format after playing an abridged 14-game season this past year. There will be three bye weeks for each team, with the regular season ending just before Halloween and the 109th Grey Cup scheduled for Regina on Sunday, Nov. 22.

“We know our fans are still celebrating the Grey Cup win, but we’re already looking forward to the return of a full 18-game schedule in 2022,” said president and CEO Wade Miller in a press release. “We can’t wait to continue the celebrations into next year with our incredible fans and raise another banner at IG Field.”

The home schedule includes five Friday night games on June 10, June 24, and July 15. Two games will be played at IG Field on Thursday nights — both in August — and two will be held on Saturdays: the annual Banjo Bowl against the Saskatchewan Roughriders on September 10 and a Thanksgiving weekend visit by the Edmonton Elks on October 8.

The Blue Bombers will open with four straight games against East Division opponents. Following the back-to-back with Ottawa to open the season, Winnipeg will then be home to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats for a Grey Cup rematch before visiting the Toronto Argonauts on July 4.

The annual Labour Day Classic and Banjo Bowl will be played September 4 in Regina and September 10 at IG Field. Three of the Bombers’ final four home games will be held at IG Field.
