The Canadian Football League has announced three fines, two of which stem from the league’s Week 15 action.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ receiver Tyler Ternowski was fined for a high hit on Toronto Argonauts’ returner Chandler Worthy, while on-field official Tom Vallesi was fined for the use of inappropriate and explicit language.

Vallesi was heard uttering an expletive during this past week’s game between the Edmonton Elks and Saskatchewan Roughriders.

It sounded as though Vallesi directed the expletive at the Riders after announcing they’d called a timeout before the second half got underway. The league issued an apology regarding the incident after the game, including Vallesi’s “deep regrets.” He will not miss any officiating assignments.

The league also fined Edmonton Elks’ defensive lineman Mathieu Betts for a high hit on Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ strong-side linebacker Nic Cross that took place in Week 13.

As per league policy, the amounts of the fines were not disclosed.
