Trevor Harris will start for the Montreal Alouettes at quarterback this week, according to TSN reporter John Lu.

Khari Jones confirms Trevor Harris will start vs. Blue Bombers this weekend. Matt Shiltz will likely sit out this week due to various ailments, primarily his knee, which he played through last week vs. SK.

Harris came on in relief of Matthew Shiltz this past weekend in a 19-14 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He completed 12-of-15 pass attempts for 123 yards and one touchdown along with three carries for 31 yards.

The 35-year-old quarterback was acquired via trade from Edmonton in mid-October after falling out of favour with the team’s braintrust. He started six games for the Elks this season, completing 70.3 percent of his passes for 1,568 yards, six touchdowns, and five interceptions.

Shiltz has started three games for Montreal since Vernon Adams Jr. went down with a shoulder injury, winning two of them. He has completed 62.8 percent of his passes for 760 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions this season and carried the ball 18 times for 85 yards and one score.

The Als (6-5) are scheduled to visit the red-hot Winnipeg Blue Bombers (10-1) on Saturday at IG Field with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. ET. Montreal currently sits two points back of the Toronto Argonauts for first place in the East Division with three regular season games remaining.
