The Ottawa Redblacks may not be winning, but at least for today it appear they are twinning.
In honour of Halloween, many players will show up at CFL facilities on Sunday decked out in a festive costume, but Redblacks rookie Jakub Szott has claimed an early lead in the race for best get-up. The young offensive lineman decided to go as what he knows, showing up in a spot-on imitation outfit of his OL coach Bob Wylie.

Wylie, an offensive line coaching legend, arrived in Ottawa this season as just the latest stop in an illustrious career. He has worked for six NCAA Division I schools, two CFL teams and eight NFL organizations. Most recently, the Rhode Island native was the offensive line coach for the Cleveland Browns in 2017-2018 after serving in the same role with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers from 2014-2016.
This isn’t the first Halloween costume in Wylie’s honour, as he became an internet sensation after appearing on Hard Knocks with the Browns in 2018. The coach’s unique personality, including a love of card tricks and sports cars, and the way his pot belly rises suddenly while saying “Set, Hut” was rife for imitation. Few ever did it better than Szott.
From the artificial belly to the knee high white socks and cane, the fourth round pick out of McMaster nailed his performance.
Now if only the Redblacks could have that type of execution on the field.
