The Canadian Football League has fined two members of the Toronto Argonauts following their Week 12 loss to the Montreal Alouettes.
Placekicker and punter Boris Bede was fined for unsportsmanlike behaviour during the third quarter, while offensive lineman Shane Richards was fined for a chop-block on defensive lineman Michael Wakefield.
As per league policy, the amounts of the player fines were not disclosed.
Bede played five seasons with the Als before being traded to the Argos in February 2020. He has connected on 15-of-20 field goals (75 percent) this season with a long of 54 yards. He leads the CFL with a 68.5-yard average on kickoffs and averages 44.5 gross yards per punt.
Richards has started six games at guard this season due to injuries suffered by Philip Blake and Dariusz Bladek. He is in his second season with the Argos after being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 CFL Draft out of Oklahoma State.
The Argos had a tough game this past Friday, snapping a three-game winning streak with a 37-16 loss to Montreal. William Stanback rushed for 203 yards against the Double Blue, while quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson was intercepted four times.
