The Ottawa Redblacks have moved veteran defensive lineman Frank Beltre to the six-game injured list.

The 31-year-old was a limited participant in practice on Saturday but missed the sessions on Sunday and Monday due to issues with his hip and thumb.

Beltre is in his first season with the Redblacks following stints with the Calgary Stampeders (2014-16) and Toronto Argonauts (2018-19) and a handful of stops in the NFL. He has recorded five total tackles through five games this season.

The six-foot-two, 240-pound pass-rusher had his best season in 2019 when he recorded 27 special teams tackles and a forced fumble in 16 games.

Belte kept busy during the pandemic by competing on popular TV show ‘Exatlón’ in the Dominican Republic after his niece secretly signed him up.
