CBC Sports to broadcast 2021 Vanier Cup on Dec. 4

CBC Sports has acquired the English television broadcasting rights to the 56th Vanier Cup, which will be played at Université Laval’s TELUS-UL Stadium on Dec. 4.

“Today, is the first step towards reshaping coverage of university sport in Canada,” said U Sports’ director of marketing and communications John Bower in a press release.

“CBC Sports is Canada’s Olympic Network and has an impressive repertoire of high performance sport coverage on its digital platforms. U SPORTS look forward to growing our audience with CBC so that the performances and stories of our student-athletes reach the widest possible audience.”

The deal was reached as part of a four-year agreement that will make CBC Sports the exclusive English television rights holder of all U Sport National Championships.

The game will be hosted on television as well as digital platforms cbcsports.ca, CBC Gem streaming service, and the CBC Sports App.

The 55th Vanier Cup was broadcast on November 23rd, 2019 by CBC Sports, featuring commentary by Mark Lee, Justin Dunk, and Andi Petrillo.
