The Saskatchewan Roughriders will be without at least two defensive starters when they host the Toronto Argonauts on Wednesday.
Defensive tackle Garrett Marino will miss the game due to a knee injury, while safety Mike Edem will be out with a wrist injury. Both injuries were suffered in the Banjo Bowl this past Saturday.
Edem is currently sporting a cast after suffering an injury while attempting to make a diving interception at IG Field. Head coach Craig Dickenson indicated that Edem will not play with the cast against Toronto and will be added to the one or six-game injured list.
Canadian defensive back Elie Bouka will likely start at safety in place of Edem, while Anthony Lanier and Makana Henry are options to replace Marino.
Defensive backs A.J. Hendy, Ed Gainey, and Loucheiz Purifoy were limited in practice, the latter two of whom missed the Banjo Bowl due to injury.
Cody Fajardo saw an increased workload on Wednesday with Dickenson indicating that he took two-thirds of the reps at quarterback. The team remains hopeful that he will play, provided he does not have a setback as he returns from a mild concussion.
