Calgary Stampeders’ fullback William Langlais will miss the Labour Day Classic on Monday due to being in COVID protocol.
Players are added to COVID protocol when they have tested positive for the virus or are a close contact of someone who has. Danny Austin reported that Langlais has not tested positive for COVID-19, which would make him a close contact.
The 31-year-old was a third-round pick out of Sherbrooke in the 2015 CFL Draft. He is in his sixth season with the Stampeders, having recorded 54 special teams tackles, 13 receptions for 189 yards, and one rush for three yards in 80 career games.
In a corresponding move, Calvin McCarty has been elevated to the active roster and will make his Calgary debut against his former team. The 36-year-old spent 13 seasons with the Edmonton Elks, winning a Grey Cup with the team in 2015.
