The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will not have Naaman Roosevelt in the lineup when they visit Regina for the annual Labour Day Classic.

The club posted its depth chart for Sunday’s game and it indicates that Nic Demski will be back in the starting lineup following a two-week absence. The local product got off to a strong start to the season, making 13 receptions for 138 yards and one touchdown in just two games.

Roosevelt was added to Winnipeg’s roster on Monday. The Bombers denied that he was signed due to a recent rash of drops from the receiving corps, but there’s no doubt the sure-handed receiver will help the team connect on more passes.

The long-time member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders was eligible to play in the Labour Day Classic despite being signed so recently. Instead, he’ll start his tenure with Winnipeg on the practice roster while Demski slots into the starting lineup.

Roosevelt caught 77 passes for 946 yards and one touchdown as a member of the Roughriders in 2019. He had an impressive game against Winnipeg in the West Final, making seven receptions for 87 yards.
