We’re used to seeing Samuel Eguavoen make great plays north of the border, but the 28-year-old had a monster performance in Saturday’s NFL preseason action with the Miami Dolphins.
The six-foot-one, 236-pound linebacker recorded ten tackles, four sacks, and a safety in a 37-17 victory over Atlanta. Falcons’ quarterbacks Feleipe Franks and AJ McCarron had a miserable day, combining for just 89 passing yards and an interception.
Sam Eguavoen has had himself a game with four sacks, including this safety.

Eguavoen is entering his third season in Miami having appeared in 32 games over the past two seasons with seven starts. He’s recorded 51 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, two knockdowns, and one fumble recovery in the regular season and it appears he’s on pace to do more damage in 2021.
The Texas Tech product went unselected in the 2015 NFL Draft and signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders the following year. He became a household name over three seasons in Riderville, recording 173 total tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles, and one interception over three seasons.
It’s great advertising for the CFL when one of their former players does great things south of the border and Eguavoen’s performance on Saturday was nothing short of exceptional.
