The Calgary Stampeders have released rookie return specialist Sean Riley.
Riley dressed for Calgary first game of the year, which was a 23-20 loss to the Toronto Argonauts. He returned four punts for 39 yards, three kickoffs for 61 yards, and one missed field goal for 49 yards.
The five-foot-eight, 178-pound speedster is the third-leading player all-time at Syracuse having recorded 4,358 all-purpose yards (97 rushing yards, 1,265 receiving yards, and 2,996 return yards).
The Stamps also moved pass-rusher Cassanova McKinzy to the practice roster after he completed his mandatory quarantine period since returning from the United States. The team also placed American offensive lineman Jordan Morgan on the retired list.
