The New York Giants have placed Canadian tight end Rysen John on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
NFL players are placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list when they have tested positive for the virus or are a close contact of someone who has.
John signed a futures contract with the G-Men in January 2021 after spending three months on the team’s practice roster in 2020.
The Vancouver native had a stellar senior season at Simon Fraser University, catching 53 passes for 861 yards and 10 touchdowns. His performance caught the attention of NFL scouts and he’s built his frame from 230 pounds to 255 pounds as he’s moved from receiver to tight end at the professional level.
John was selected in the third round, 21st overall during the 2020 CFL draft by the Calgary Stampeders.
