The Toronto Argonauts have released versatile lineman Quinn Smith.

The six-foot-two, 303-pound native of Scarborough was a first-round pick of the Calgary Stampeders in the 2014 CFL Draft. He was primarily a defensive tackle at the University of Concordia, though he occasionally filled in along the offensive line — a trend that continued at the professional level.

Smith played 40 games for the Calgary Stampeders over five seasons, recording 26 tackles and eight sacks. He was not under contract for the 2019 CFL season but inked a contract with the Argos last month in order to try out for the team.

CFL teams are required to make their final cuts by July 30 with the season set to get underway at IG Field in Winnipeg on August 5.
