Canadian running back Wayne Moore has been placed on the retired list by the B.C. Lions.

The 29-year-old was selected in the second round of the 2016 CFL Draft by the Montreal Alouettes. He was cut in July 2017 and signed with the Ottawa Redblacks, though he did not dress for a regular season game.

Moore joined the B.C. Lions in July 2018 and was elevated from the practice roster the following month. He dressed for 25 games with the team over two seasons, recording 19 carries for 86 yards, seven receptions for 91 yards, and 15 special teams tackles.

The McMaster product signed a contract extension with the Lions on December 2020 but will not report to training camp when it gets underway next week.

Editor’s note: the B.C. Lions have announced since the publishing of this article that Moore was recently involved in a car accident and is recovering at home. He may join the team this season provided he is healthy enough to do so.
