The Canadian Football League unveiled a fourteen-game schedule for the 2021 season on Tuesday.

Winnipeg’s schedule features seven road and seven home contests. Of the seven dates at IG Field, three will be held on Saturdays, two will be Friday night games with one each on Sunday and Thursday.

The schedule includes the traditional Labour Day Classic and Banjo Bowl games with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in successive weekends in September. The Blue Bombers visit Regina on Sunday, September 5 and the Riders visit Winnipeg on Saturday, September 11.

The Bombers open the season with consecutive home dates — the opener on August 5 and a visit by the Toronto Argonauts on Friday, August 13 — and wrap-up with back-to-back games on the road: November 13 in Montreal and November 20 in Calgary.

The CFL schedule features two byes for each club, with the Bombers seeing their breaks coming in Week 8 in mid-September and then Week 13 on Halloween weekend.

“We look forward defending our Grey Cup Championship at our home opener on August 5 against the Ticats at IG Field,” said President & CEO Wade Miller in a press release. “It is time to get our players back on the field, coaches on the sidelines and fans in the stands.  This is a very exciting time for the organization, and for all Blue Bombers fans across our province.”

Season ticket members will be contacted in the next few days and again by mid-July as the club works with the Province of Manitoba on its Reopening Plan and potential capacity at IG Field for games.
