Alouettes laugh at Leafs collapse, congratulate Canadiens on first round series win

The Montreal Alouettes enjoyed Game 7 on Monday night between the Canadiens and Maple Leafs.

Goalie Carey Price backstopped the Habs to a 3-1 win in the do or die match-up at Scotiabank Arena with 26 saves. That was the final victory as Montreal came back from 3-1 down in the series to advance to the second round and send the blue and white out in the first round yet again.

The Als tweetedBye bye Toronto with an LOL emoji. Can’t wait to see the next round for our Canadiens. Well done guys! Go Habs Go!

Montreal will take on the Jets in the second round. The Blue Bombers welcomed the Habs to the Manitoba capital Willie Jefferson style.

The best-of-seven series starts on Wednesday night in Winnipeg. The Jets swept the Oilers in their opening round series and have been waiting for an opponent as the Habs went the distance with the Leafs.

The Canadian rivalries in football are crossing over onto the ice after the NHL stole what the CFL has been doing for decades: playing every regular season game against teams from the North Division.
