The 2021 NFL Draft could be a record-breaking event for Canadians.
In 2014, four players from Canada were selected, including current Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, which is the most in one draft in NFL history.
Defensive back Jevon Holland, receiver Josh Palmer, running back Chuba Hubbard, defensive back Benjamin St-Juste, and offensive lineman Alaric Jackson might be part of the new benchmark of five Canadians chosen in a single draft.
Linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga, tight end Bruno Labelle, and offensive lineman Pier-Olivier Lestage could be selected in the late rounds, but are more likely to be undrafted free agent signings.
Since 1966 — the start of the Super Bowl Era — there have been 63 players from north of the border selected in the NFL draft. At least one Canadian has been chosen in the NFL draft from 2011 to 2020, the longest-ever streak — 10 years — for our home and native land. It will definitely continue in 2021.
