Bob Young, the owner of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, issued a statement regarding the 2021 season following a big announcement from the CFL and XFL.

While there was some interesting news today from the Canadian Football League office, rest assured that our singular focus right now is getting back on the field in 2021 and putting on the best Grey Cup in CFL history. Our commitment to our fans is that we will accomplish both.

The CFL and XFL made a joint statement on Wednesday stating that they are exploring a potential collaboration. The news drew a passionate response from CFL fans who expressed concern regarding the future of the Canadian league.

Hamilton is scheduled to host the 108th Grey Cup at Tim Hortons Field on Sunday, November 21. The team released the branding for the game and its accompanying festival late last year.

The Tiger-Cats finished 15-3 in 2019 but were upset by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Grey Cup in Calgary. Hamilton is considered the early favourite to win the upcoming, which is something the team hasn’t done since 1999.
