The CFL Players’ Association will hold its Annual General Meeting virtually on Friday, February 26 and Saturday, February 27 with a special guest on the schedule.

For the first time CFL commissioner Randy Ambrosie will join this year’s program to address player representatives, the executive and CFLPA staff.

The AGM includes many essential meetings that support transparency, establish structure, and are critical to planning.

“We have a lot of work to do to give CFLPA members the best opportunity to play a safe 2021 season,” Brian Ramsay, CFLPA executive director, said in a statement.

“This past year has been one of the most difficult and challenging for our members as well as the history of our Association. This year’s AGM will be a critical opportunity to bring us together virtually to review and plan the year ahead.”

The CFL unveiled its 2021 schedule in November with the pre-season scheduled to begin on Sunday, May 23, while the regular season is slated to get underway on Thursday, June 10, and the Grey Cup in Hamilton on Sunday, November 21 in Hamilton.

The league and union began meetings during the second week of February with a focus on putting football on the field this year. And it’s led to the CFL and its players jointly submitting a detailed return to play plan to various levels of government in Canada.
