CFL, NFL player agent Jonathon Hardaway has passed away

Jonathon Hardaway, a high-profile CFL agent, has passed away after suffering a heart attack.

The University of Chicago graduate had three clients selected No. 1 in the CFL draft over the past decade in Henoc Muamba (2011), Josiah St. John (2016), and Shane Richards (2019).

Other clients of Hardaway’s include linebacker Chris Ackie, offensive lineman Peter Godber, receiver Kaion Julien-Grant, linebacker Cory Greenwood, and receiver Nate Behar.

According to Éric Lablanc of RDS, Hardaway had started working on a contract extension with Montreal prior to his passing. His death has put those negotiations on hold while Muamba finds a new agent.

In addition to his work as a sports agent, Hardaway was also an attorney who had law offices in New York and Washington, D.C.
