The Montreal Alouettes have signed former NFL receiver Eli Rogers.

The 28-year-old Rogers went unselected in the 2015 NFL Draft, but signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He spent the entire 2015 season on injured reserve. Coming out of training camp in 2016, Rogers earned an active roster spot and he caught 48 passes for 594 yards and three touchdowns that year. Through three seasons in Pittsburgh, Rogers played 30 games making 78 receptions for 822 yards and four touchdowns. He also returned 26 punts for 191 yards.

After being released by the Steelers in August 2019, Rogers played for the DC Defenders in the XFL during the 2020 season which was shortened due to the coronavirus. That was his last pro football action.

Prior to turning pro, Rogers played in the NCAA for the University of Louisville. He recorded 176 receptions for 2020 yards and 12 touchdowns in 51 games during four seasons with the Cardinals. Rogers ran a 4.57 forty-yard time with a quick 4.10 shuttle at Louisville’s pro day.
