The B.C. Lions have signed former reality television show star, defensive lineman Tim Bonner.

Bonner was featured on the hit Netflix series Last Chance U, during the second season.

After redshirting at the University of Louisville, Bonner transferred to East Mississippi Community College in 2016 to play for head coach Buddy Stephens. The Demopolis, Alabama native was part of a 12-0 Lions team that won the Mississippi Bowl State Championship, the State Title and winner of the North.

From there, he moved on to Florida Atlantic University for three seasons and recorded 58 total tackles, including 21.5 for a loss, eight sacks, two forced fumbles and two pass knockdowns in 38 games.

The six-foot-five, 250-pounder Bonner went unselected in the 2020 NFL draft. He worked out for both the Seattle Seahawks and Miami Dolphins prior to the season, but did not receive a contract offer from either team.

The Lions added two other players to the roster along with Bonner, American defensive linemen Obum Gwacham and Bryant Jones.

After a productive NCAA career at Oregon State University, the six-foot-five 250-pound Gwacham suited up in 15 NFL games over two seasons (2015-2016) split between the New Orleans Saints and the New York Jets. He recorded ten tackles, three sacks and one forced fumble. Gwacham was most recently on the roster of the XFL’s Tampa Bay Vipers in 2020.

The six-foot-one, 304-pound Jones attended 2019 training camp with the Los Angeles Rams and suited up in all four pre-season contests. In four seasons at Mississippi Valley State University, Jones recorded 156 total tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles and a pair of fumble recoveries in 38 games.
