The Edmonton Football Team has produced another large 50/50 total.

After the club hosted its first-ever online 50/50 raffle last weekend, which raised a total of $991,800 — setting a new franchise record — the team did it again on Saturday.

Half of the first pot went to the Joey Moss Memorial Fund. This week the Edmonton Wildcats, Edmonton Huskies, and the University of Alberta Golden Bears football team will split half of $415,910.

The COVID-19 pandemic caused the cancellation of the Canadian Junior Football League and U Sports seasons, which means the programs need the support.

Tickets went on sale Saturday at 12:00 noon ET with the draw finishing at 10 p.m. ET the same day. Tickets could only be purchased by individuals 18 years or older who are located within Alberta’s provincial borders at the time of purchase.

“The Edmonton Football Team’s 50/50 contributions to Golden Bear Football and to the rest of the Amateur Football community are simply invaluable,” said Golden Bears’ head coach Chris Morris.

“These funds are used for the development of the sport in our region and also help provide a greater opportunity for involvement in football for our youth than anywhere else in Canada.”
