The Saskatchewan Roughriders’ 2021 potential free agent list

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Saskatchewan Roughriders didn’t play football in 2020.

However, the contract years counted for all players, which leaves a lot of work for Riders general manager Jeremy O’Day for potentially playing in 2021.

When Saskatchewan takes the field again, quarterback Cody Fajardo will be leading the way as he’s signed through the 2021 season. Although, offensive stars such as running back William Powell, receiver Shaq Evans, playmaker Kyran Moore and Jordan Williams-Lambert are pending free agents in February.

On defence, pass rusher Charleston Hughes, linebackers Solomon Elimimian and Cameron Judge along with the majority of the starting defensive backfield have expiring contracts — Nick Marshall, Ed Gainey, Mike Edem and L.J. McCray. Otha Foster was tabbed to replace Derrick Moncrief at strong-side linebacker, but he’ll need to be re-signed if he’s in the future plans.

Specialists Jorgen Hus, Brett Lauther and hometown talent Jon Ryan are pending free agents.
