Canadian kicker JJ Molson works out for Green Bay Packers

Canadian kicker JJ Molson worked out for the Green Bay Packers on Monday.

Molson went unselected in the 2020 NFL Draft.

He appeared in 49 games from 2016 to 2019 at the University of California, Los Angeles, converting 51-of-74 field goal attempts (69 percent) as a Bruin. The six-foot-one, 197-pounder also kicked off 266 times for 12,758 yards (63 yard average) and was awarded UCLA’s Tommy Prothro Award for outstanding special teams play in 2018.

The Montreal native is an eight-generation descendant of John Molson, the founder of Molson Brewery. Molson was selected in the seventh round, 63rd overall by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the 2020 CFL draft. 

Longtime Green Bay kicker Mason Crosby has made all eleven of his field goal attempts in 2020. The Packers are likely evaluating emergency options in the event an unexpected case of COVID-19.
