The New York Giants have signed Canadian tight end Rysen John.

He worked out for the Giants last Thursday and inked a practice squad contract on Tuesday.

John was waived by the G-men following training camp prior to the 2020 NFL season. New York tagged John with a hamstring injury designation.

He was an undrafted free agent signing from Simon Fraser University. John had a stellar senior season at SFU and it garnered the attention of NFL scouts.

The Vancouver native grabbed 53 passes for 861 yards and 10 touchdowns during his final collegiate season. The six-foot-seven target has built his frame up to 255 pounds in the hopes of earning a long-term NFL opportunity.

John was selected in the third round, 21st overall during the 2020 CFL draft by the Calgary Stampeders.

Due to his familiarity with the team and knowledge of the playbook, John could be a quick fit with the Giants bringing him back into the fold.
