The Carolina Panthers have activated a former CFL player for tomorrow’s game against the New Orleans Saints.
Marken Michel has been elevated to the 53-man roster after spending the previous six weeks on the practice roster.

The Massachusetts product spent two seasons with Calgary (2017-2018) and recorded 72 receptions for 1,215 yards and eight touchdowns in 24 games. He parlayed that success into a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, signing with the team in January 2019.
Waived amid training camp cuts, Michel spent a portion of last year’s regular season on the Eagles’ practice roster. He signed a future/reserve contract to remain with the team in 2020, but was released in April.
The five-foot-eleven, 190-pound receiver joined the Panthers in August and made the team’s practice roster after training camp. Sunday will mark the first time he is active for a regular season NFL game.
Michel isn’t the only receiver on the Panthers with CFL connections. Former Edmonton Football Team slotback Brandon Zylstra is also on the roster and has dressed for all six games so far this season.

The Panthers (3-3) and Saints (3-2) kickoff tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. ET.
