The Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed Canadian tight end Antony Auclair on injured reserve Friday.

He sustained a calf injury in the Bucs’ 2020 season-opening 34-23 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Auclair is eligible to return to the active roster after sitting out a minimum of three games.

Tampa Bay originally brought Auclair into the fold on an undrafted NFL free agent pact following the 2017 NFL draft. The 27-year-old signed a fresh one-year contract with the Bucs prior to the opening of NFL free agency on March 18. The Laval University product has played in 33 games with 18 starts since making the roster as a rookie in 2017.

Auclair has ten career receptions for 84 yards and he’ll have to heal in order to catch his first pass from six-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady.
