U Sports has parted ways with Graham Brown as its president and chief operating officer.

The news was first reported by Sportsnet’s Arash Madani.

Brown was originally hired by U Sports from Rugby Canada in 2015. Prior to joining Rugby Canada, the native of Blenheim, Ontario, served as executive director of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association from 1998 to 2002.

Brown graduated from the University of Windsor in 1992 after completing a Bachelor of Human Kinetics (Honours Sports Administration) immediately followed by a Masters of Human Kinetics (Sports Management) in 1995. He was a founding member of the University of Windsor rugby program in 1989 and also played varsity basketball and football with the Lancers.

According to Journal de Quebec reporter Richard Boutin, former chairman of the U Sports board (Canadian Interuniversity Sport at the time), Dick White has been appointed interim CEO. Retired since 2015, White is a former athletic director at the University of Regina.
