The Ottawa Redblacks have signed free agent receiver Jalen Saunders to a one-year contract for the 2020 season.

The 27-year-old from California previously suited up for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2017 and 2018, where he recorded 1,909 yards and six touchdowns. In 2017 alone, Saunders had 1,170 yards and four touchdowns for the Ticats. The The five-foot-nine, 171-pound University of Oklahoma product had 739 yards in just nine games in 2018 before his season was cut short due to injury.

In two CFL seasons, Saunders had three 80-plus yard performances against his new Ottawa team, including an eight catch, 154-yard performance in 2018.
Saunders was drafted by the New York Jets in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft and would suit up for nine games with the Jets and New Orleans Saints that season. He also spent time on NFL rosters with Arizona, Seattle, New England and Chicago.
