Riders sign former NFL, Ohio State University defensive back Damon Webb

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American defensive back Damon Webb. 

He signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent in 2018 and played in four pre-season games for the Titans recording five tackles and two pass deflections. Webb spent the 2018 season on the practice roster. 

Prior to turning pro, Webb played four NCAA seasons at Ohio State University playing in 35 games while recording 131 tackles, four tackles for loss, two touchdowns from six interceptions, seven pass deflections, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.

The Detroit native had a standout season in his senior year for the Buckeyes, recording five interceptions – the second-best total in the Big Ten. Webb helped lead his team to a 2017 Cotton Bowl victory where he was named defensive MVP after notching five tackles, one fumble recovery and one interception returned 23 yards for a touchdown. 

The 24-year-old Webb checks in at five-foot-11, 198 pounds and ran a 4.62 40-yard time with 17 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press at the 2018 NFL Combine.
