It’s safe to say that curling fever has taken over Manitoba.
Manitoba is currently home to the men’s and women’s national junior curling champions and the national women’s champions. The province has a shot at taking home another title this weekend with two teams still in contention for the Brier title.
All of this success seems to have caught the eye of Bombers’ all-star linebacker Adam Bighill who tried his hand at the sport on a trip to Gillam, Manitoba.

My first curling experience, and first rock thrown here, as a knockout rock. Yes I need a ton of practice getting my form out of the hack. Was a ton of fun playing this sport for the first time, and I’m looking forward to playing again soon. . I was wearing the Mayor of Gillam’s, Duane Forman, @dynastycurling jersey. Have to admit I at least looked the part haha!!! #4TheW #Curling
Bighill not only looked the part, his form wasn’t all that bad for his first-ever throw.
If he’s going to curl out of Manitoba, though, someone needs to teach him the “Manitoba tuck” and the famous “spin-o-rama.”
