Receiver Armanti Edwards officially has a home in the XFL as he’s been added to the roster of the Dallas Renegades.

The former Toronto Argonaut and Saskatchewan Roughrider signed with the XFL a week ago after four seasons in the CFL.

Through 56 CFL games, Edwards recorded 244 catches for 3,181 yards and 16 touchdowns. He’s coming off his first 1,000-yard season in 2019, grabbing 69 passes for 1,014 yards and seven touchdowns. Edwards won a Grey Cup championship with the Argos in 2017.

Prior to signing in Saskatchewan, Edwards had NFL stints with the Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns and Carolina Panthers. He appeared in 35 games in three seasons with the Panthers after being selected in the third round, 89th overall by Carolina in the 2010 NFL Draft.

In 51 career collegiate games at Appalachian State University, 49 of which he started at quarterback, Edwards passed for 10,392 yards and 74 touchdowns while rushing for 4,361 yards and 65 touchdowns.

He became the first player in NCAA Division I history to throw for over 10,000 yards and rush for more than 4,000 yards while leading the Mountaineers to four straight Southern Conference championships. Edwards was the first back-to-back and two-time winner of the Walter Payton Award as the FCS most outstanding offensive player.
