Drake is joining the Toronto Argonauts.

No, not that one.

Veteran defensive tackle Drake Nevis is signing with the Argos after becoming a free agent.

The 30-year-old spent the last three seasons in Winnipeg during which he recorded 101 tackles and eleven sacks in 64 games. He played one previous season with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2016, notching 29 tackles and five sacks in 14 contests.

The six-foot, 300-pounder won a Grey Cup with the Blue Bombers in 2019. He recorded a sack against Saskatchewan in the West Final and a sack against Hamilton in the championship game.

The 30-year-old Nevis was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft and played 14 games over two seasons for the AFC South team. During 2013, the Louisiana State University alum played 11 games for Dallas and one game for Jacksonville, running his total NFL games played to 26 with 50 tackles and one sack. Nevis won a BCS National Championship with LSU in 2007.

Nevis brings physicality and run-stopping ability to the Argos’ defensive line.
