Offensive lineman Dariusz Bladek has signed a one-year contract with the Toronto Argonauts.

The 25-year-old was selected in the second round of the 2017 CFL draft by the Saskatchewan Roughrides and appeared in 45 regular season games over three years with the club.

Bladek started eight contests in 2019 at guard but became a victim of the team’s depth along the offensive line. He was relegated to backup duty in Regina but is expected to take on a full-time starting role with the Boatmen.

The Bethune-Cookman product is capable of starting at guard or centre, which will provide some much-needed versatility to Toronto’s front five.

Incumbent national starters Ryan Bomben, Tyler Holmes, and Sean McEwen were all released in the days leading up to free agency. McEwen, an all-star centre, has since inked a deal with his hometown Calgary Stampeders.
