The Toronto Argos have signed Canadian cornerback Arjen Colquhoun to a one-year contract through the 2020 season, per sources.
The Windsor, Ontario native has appeared in 24 regular season games over three seasons, recording 48 tackles and one interception with Edmonton.
The 27-year-old was drafted by the Eskimos in the second round of the 2016 CFL draft. His stock fell after signing with the Dallas Cowboys, though he ended up joining Edmonton by the following season.
The Windsor, Ontario native and W. F. Herman Secondary School graduate started 11 games for Michigan State University in 2015, his senior season. He was a vital part of the Spartans Big Ten Championship team, recording a career-high 45 tackles, 12 passes defended, 10 pass break-ups, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles. Colquhoun put up some strong numbers at Michigan State’s Pro Day.
Colquhoun should be penciled in as Toronto’s starting field-side cornerback.
