Canadian defensive back Stavros Katsantonis has been invited to the College Gridiron Showcase.

The CGS is scheduled to take place from January 3-5, 2020 in Fort Worth, Texas. 78 scouts attended last year’s game, including representation from all nine CFL teams and 31 of 32 NFL teams — providing exposure for top college and university senior football players from around North America. Players are selected by a panel of football experts.

It’s the first all-star event to implement an “OTA-style” format which showcases players through practices and a controlled scrimmage while also making them available for personal interviews with the scouts and executives from NFL and CFL clubs.

Katsantonis was a first-team All-Canadian for the third straight year in 2018 recording 50 tackles, 1.5 for loss, four interceptions, two pass break-ups and one fumble recovery. He was not eligible for his final year of USports eligibility because of an infraction, which bumped his CFL draft year to 2020.

Canadian prospects Brady Oliveira (North Dakota) and Jamie Harry (Ottawa) were invited to last year’s College Gridiron Showcase. Oliveira went on to be selected in the second round (14th overall) of the CFL draft by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, while Harry was picked in the fifth round (38th overall) by the Toronto Argonauts.

Katsantonis has intriguing ability at the next level and he’s been staying ready for his pro shot.
