The reigning Grey Cup champion Winnipeg Blue Bombers will kick off the 2020 regular season with a 107th Grey Cup rematch in Hamilton against the Tiger-Cats.
That takes place on Saturday, June 13th. The team’s home opener will come in Week 3 of the CFL schedule against the visiting Calgary Stampeders for Friday Night Football on June 26 at 7:30 pm CT.
“We look forward to raising our championship banner at our home opener,” president Wade Miller said.
There is an even mix of Thursday Night Football and Friday evening games in the 2020 calendar. In all, the Bombers will host three regular season Thursday night games and two home games on Friday nights in the summer months, with a final Friday night game landing in the fall on October 9.
After a Week 2 bye, the Bombers are home at IG Field for the home opener June 26, followed by a trip to Edmonton on Friday, July 3. The team is then home for Weeks 5 and 6 to host the Montreal Alouettes July 9 and the B.C. Lions July 19 for Thursday Night Football. The Bombers then head East for Weeks 7 and 8 before returning home to host the Edmonton Eskimos Friday, August 14.
Winnipeg wraps up the month of August with Thursday Night Football at IG Field against the visiting Ottawa Redblacks August 27 before kicking off the following month in Regina for the annual Labour Day Classic September 6.
The Roughriders then visit Winnipeg for the highly anticipated Banjo Bowl on Saturday, September 12 at 3:00 p.m.
