The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have agreed to terms with veteran offensive lineman Pat Neufeld on a one-year contract extension through the 2020 season.

The 30-year-old was scheduled to be a free agent in February.

The six-foot-six, 315-pound Regina, Saskatchewan native will enter his 10th CFL season in 2020. Neufeld is the second-longest serving Blue Bomber since being acquired in a trade with Saskatchewan in October of 2013.

In 2013, the Riders sent Neufeld and a fifth round selection to Winnipeg for defensive lineman Alex Hall and a second round pick. He was originally selected in the fifth round, 33rd overall by Saskatchewan in the 2010 CFL draft.

Neufeld provided a steady presence while starting the final six regular season games, both playoff games and the Grey Cup win for the Bombers in 2019. He’s played 106 games played in his career, including 68 starts.
