Stampeders sign Fresno State quarterback Marcus McMaryion

The Calgary Stampeders have signed quarterback Marcus McMaryion.

McMaryion is a former Fresno State star who attended rookie mini-camps with the National Football League’s Oakland Raiders and New Orleans Saints in 2019.

He made 25 starts in 28 games over two seasons (2017-2018) at Fresno State and completed 511 of 778 pass attempts (65.7 percent) for 6,355 yards with 39 touchdowns against 10 interceptions and added 596 yards on 128 rush attempts with 12 touchdowns. As a senior in 2018, McMaryion was voted a team captain and was an All-Mountain West honourable mention.

Prior to his time at Fresno State, McMaryion made seven starts in 15 appearances during two seasons at Oregon State. As a member of the Beavers, he completed 128 of 237 pass attempts (54 percent) for 1,689 yards with 11 touchdowns versus eight interceptions. He added 45 carries for 93 yards and two touchdowns along the ground.
