The Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the City of Winnipeg will host a Grey Cup championship parade Tuesday, November 26 from noon to 3:00 p.m. central standard time beginning at Hargrave and Portage Avenue heading eastbound on Portage Avenue and culminating at The Forks.
The parade will feature players, coaches and staff, president Wade Miller, premier Brian Pallister, mayor Brian Bowman, the cheer & dance team, Buzz and Boomer, the Blue Bombers drum band, and dancing Gabe.
“On behalf of all Manitobans and all Bomber fans everywhere, I thank all the players and the management and staff of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for ending the 29 year drought and starting a new series of Grey Cup championships, congratulations!” Pallister said in a statement.
“Congratulations to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on a historic playoff run and for providing Winnipeg with the Championship win. Winnipeg is bursting with excitement and we’re grateful to Wade Miller and the entire Winnipeg Football Club for finally ending the Grey Cup drought!” Bowman said in a statement.
The Bombers defeated the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the 107th Grey Cup by a score of 33-12 in front of 35,349 fans at McMahon Stadium in Calgary. The victory ended a 29-year draught without a CFL championship in the Manitoba capital.
